Mrs Ethelston's PTFA
Welcome to Mrs Ethelston’s PTFA Page
Who are we and what do we do?
The Mrs Ethelston’s Parent, Teacher, and Friends Association (PTFA) is a busy charity run by a small dedicated team of volunteers, committed to enriching the educational experience for every student at Mrs. Ethelston’s. Throughout the year, we deliver an array of fundraising activities to provide the school with a variety of
resources. In doing so, we aim to foster a thriving, connected community that supports our children’s growth and success!
Last year was a fantastic one for the PTFA, with several long-awaited projects finally coming to life. Our biggest success was the creation of the new wooden patio area and sail shade, providing a brilliant outdoor space for the children. We also welcomed two school rabbits, who have quickly become part of the school community and are having a calming influence on both staff and students alike! Thank you for all your support in helping us win £1,000 from the Tesco Blue Token scheme, which will soon go towards new planters, seating and games for the playground. The PTFA also helped fund the Year 6 PGL trip, coaches for swimming lessons for Years 3 and 4, and events such as Bugfest and VE Day celebrations. A special thank you goes to Mrs Storer for her long service, dedication and for being the all-important link between staff and the PTFA — her support has been invaluable. And to Toby and Anna who have stepped down from their joint role as Treasurers. We welcome Ellie Saunders as the new Treasurer of the PTFA.
Looking ahead, the PTFA is gearing up for another exciting year of fundraising. Teachers have shared lots of wonderful ideas for things that will enrich school life, from funding a trip to see a Christmas Pantomime and easing rising transport costs, to supporting Sports Week and renewing the school’s National Trust membership. We’re also planning to enhance music provision with new Boomwhackers, update Design and Technology equipment, and invest in new resources for our Forest School.
None of these achievements would be possible without the continued generosity and enthusiasm of our school community. Thank you to everyone who has donated, helped out, or joined in — your support makes an enormous difference to all the students at Mrs Ethelston’s.
Vicky White (Chairman)
Mother of two, Vicky has been chair of the PTFA since 2022 and has been making a significant impact on the children in our community for some time now. She runs a successful childminding business and the hugely popular Bluebell Forest School. As well as her dedication to the PTFA, Vicky also volunteers with the 1 st Lym ValleyScouts. Vicky enjoys walking her new puppy and paddle boarding with friends.

Emily Ditchfield (Vice Chairman)
Mother of three boys and friendly dog called Bruno, Emily is an Assistant Play Leader at the Uplyme Preschool. She is also studying for a qualification children’s mental health as she believes it can impact all areas of a child’s life. A Lyme local Emily loves the beach and exploring the coastline with her family.

Cerri Killworth (Secretary)
Also a mother to three boys, Cerri has a background in marketing management and is no stranger to fundraising. Cerri makes no secret of her love planning and herenthusiasm for developing the PTFA is infectious. Cerri enjoys baking, foraging and letting her multi-coloured hair down at gigs.

Ellie Saunders (Treasurer)
Mother of 2, Ellie has retrained into the world of counselling and book keeping (careers which cross over more than you would think). When not keeping track of the pennies Ellie loves being on the water or in the mountains, and spending time with her kids and lively cocker spaniel.
